Shannon D. Savage Martin
I began my court reporting journey at Central Michigan University pursuing a Bachelor of Applied Arts. Upon relocating to Kansas City, I completed my education at Kansas City School of Court Reporting in 1991. Since that time I have been a freelance reporter serving the metropolitan area, maintaining long-term relationships with my clients.
My favorite thing about court reporting is hearing people’s stories. I love learning new things and always meeting new people. In what other job can you learn about a reverse shoulder replacement, how to pour concrete, the nuances of assembly line work, and the differences between Stachybotrys and Aspergillus/Penicillium molds all in the same week?
Live reporting of depositions and other proceedings is only the beginning. Careful transcription is my specialty. Producing a top-quality, verbatim transcript requires meticulous editing and proofreading. Being a wordsmith is a fine character trait for a reporter, as well as having perfectionist obsessions over deciding the correct placement of punctuation for accuracy and readability. I take great pride in making every transcript a priority.
I look forward to working with you. Email me at [email protected] or schedule online.
